Westbury Friends School, Westbury, New York fundraise for Education First Academy in Liberia.

Welcome to Education First, Inc.

Education First, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in United States and Liberia. Our vision is to help improve the quality of life in underserved and rural communities through transformative programs that focus on education, training, and community outreach.

What makes our programs transformative? We educate the “Total Child” in our schools by emphasizing rigorous academics, nutrition, and school-based basic health education. Our schools (Education First Academy) comprise of an early childhood development center and an elementary school (currently grades 1-4) with a grade added each year until we have a full elementary school (grades 1-6). The training program involves teacher and human resource development, while the community enrichment program focuses on computer literacy, summer camps, health, entrepreneurship, and extracurricular activities open to the community.

We believe that quality education leads to a wide range of short- and long-term benefits, including better educational outcomes and stronger future opportunities. That is why we focus on early childhood and continue through young adulthood education. We encourage parental and community involvement in the development of children paying keen attention to the health and nutrition of the children which are foundational to effective learning. Our innovative and “total child” approach to programs take into consideration local needs and can be replicated throughout in rural and underserved communities globally.

To ensure successful results and continuous improvement, we engage in careful analysis of our programs, provide an ongoing professional training for our staff, and communicate high expectations for all including parents.
