||Education First, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization registered in the United States and Liberia, West Africa. We are dedicated to empowering rural and underserved communities through education, human resource services, and community outreach programs.
Education First, Inc. programs focus on three overlapping components: Education, Human Resource Services, and Community Outreach.
We live by the principle that quality education is the foundation for a successful employment, meaningful citizenship, and active participation in a global society. Also, education creates an enlightened society, which is crucial to nation building. It is against this background that three and half years ago Education First, Inc. established Education First Academy (EFA) comprising of an early childhood center and an elementary school (Grade 1-6). Our dream is that all children and youth in rural and underserved communities will have access to quality education so that they can realize their full potential and combat the effects of poverty. We have established partnerships with schools in the United States to enhance the experiences of students in Liberia and the United States.
Human Resource Services
At Education First, Inc., we believe that human resource development lie at the heart of economic, social and environmental development of a nation. The purpose of our human resource service is to provide the 'coaching' needed to strengthen and grow the knowledge, skills, and abilities of employees including teachers and school administrators. Our services include empowering and enabling people to become employees capable of fulfilling their aspirations and actualizing their potential. We believe that employees, including teachers, are value creators and value enhancers rather than just resources doing their job. We provide workshops and training for employees of both public and private institutions and businesses and individuals seeking specific basic skills.
The Community Outreach program is an initiative to increase public awareness of healthy sanitation and hygiene practices, donate medical supplies to health establishments, and engage communities in agriculture programs leading to the production of homegrown food for school feeding program. “Pulah Agriculture Project” is a pilot project focused on growing rice and vegetables for EFA.
Buy A Brick Project
As enrollment at Education First Academy continues to rise at a rapid pace from 40 students in 2012 to 300 in 2015, it has become imperative that we construct a permanent structure to enable us serve more students. In November 2015, we launched the “Buy a Brick” campaign to raise funds for the construction of a school on a 3-acre land in Harper, Liberia. There are a number of options to make a donation toward this campaign. You can purchase a brick for $5.00; donate $2,500 and a wall of a classroom will be dedicated in your name or your love one; donate $10,000 and a classroom will be dedicated in your name or your love one. . A list of donors will be listed on our “Wall of Donors” at the school and on our website. So, we are appealing to you to make a donation today.
