The Education First Academy Community Hub serves as a bridge between the school, families, and the broader community by providing opportunities for collaboration, learning, and service. The hub supports community engagement through educational programs, parent partnerships, student leadership initiatives, outreach activities, and resources that promote lifelong learning and community development.
Through meaningful connections and shared experiences, the Community Hub strengthens relationships, celebrates local culture, and creates opportunities for students and community members to learn, grow, and contribute to a brighter future.
Clubs & Organizations
At Education First Academy, clubs and organizations provide students with opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build meaningful relationships beyond the classroom. Through academic, cultural, service, and interest-based activities, students develop teamwork, creativity, leadership, and confidence while contributing to the school community.
Athletics
The EFA Athletics Program promotes teamwork, discipline, physical fitness, and sportsmanship. Through organized sports, physical education, and recreational activities, students develop healthy habits, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively toward shared goals. Athletics provides opportunities for students to discover their talents and represent EFA with pride.
Arts & Music
The Arts & Music Program encourages creativity, self-expression, and cultural appreciation through visual arts, music, performance, and creative projects. Students explore their talents while developing confidence, imagination, and an appreciation for Liberia’s rich cultural heritage and the arts.
Student Leadership
EFA’s Student Leadership Program empowers students to become responsible, confident, and service-minded leaders. Through student councils, leadership activities, mentoring, and community initiatives, students develop communication, decision-making, collaboration, and civic responsibility skills.
School Calendar
The EFA School Calendar provides important information about academic schedules, holidays, school events, examinations, activities, and community programs. It helps students, families, and staff stay informed and engaged throughout the school year.
Community Partnerships
At Education First, we believe that strong partnerships create stronger opportunities for our students. Through our collaboration with healthcare professionals from J. J. Dossen Memorial Hospital, students
receive regular health screenings and wellness assessments that promote early detection and preventive care. Most recently, the medical team conducted comprehensive cardiac screenings in response to the increasing incidence of heart-related conditions among children and adolescents. These partnerships help ensure that our students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
We are also proud to partner with Waves for Change, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the mental well-being of young people growing up in high-stress environments. Through its
innovative, evidence-based Surf Therapy program—developed in collaboration with the adolescents it serves—our students gain access to activities and support that build emotional resilience, strengthen self-confidence, and promote positive mental health. This partnership reflects our commitment to nurturing the whole child by supporting both academic success and social-emotional well-being.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers play an important role in supporting the mission of Education First Academy. Opportunities include assisting with school activities, mentoring students, supporting special events, sharing professional expertise, and contributing to community initiatives that enhance the educational experience.
